We rarely go into “bragging” mode” but this is an exception. Wentzville First Assembly of God was recently recognized at the Northern Missouri District Council of the Assemblies of God in Columbia, Missouri, for some exceptional missions giving. The Assemblies of God has a renowned children’s missions program known as BGMC, short for Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge. It is a program designed for our local churches to teach children to give to missions. The funds supply numerous things that would not normally be available in the budget of a missionary. In some cases, funds are used to supply fresh water wells to towns and villages where no pure water can be found. It is an amazing program, and since its founding in 1949 this children’s program has supplied over $142,000,000.00 to missions! That’s right, MILLIONS!
Wentzville First Assembly of God participates with enthusiasm, and we were recognized this April for having given $9,220.00 in 2016. That put us in second place among all the A/G churches in Northern Missouri, and we ended up in 12th place nationally. That means that of the 13,000 Assemblies of God congregations across America, First A/G ended up on the high end among churches our size. In the past eight years, Wentzville First Assembly of God has supplied almost $55,000.00 to this amazing program.
So, let us boast for a bit on this public platform. We are not boasting about our giving as much as we are boasting in our enthusiastic participation helping spread the Good News of Jesus Christ all over the world. The numbers simply reflect where our heart is…MISSIONS! These giving figures don’t include adult giving to missions. Wentzville First Assembly of God is a missions minded church. We hope this helps you when we come to check us out. We are not here just to be here. This church is reaching out with purpose. It would be great to have you on board.
